Kurt Vonnegut (1922–2007)
Kurt Vonnegut Jr. was an American writer renowned for his satirical and darkly humorous novels, short stories, and essays, often weaving science fiction elements with social commentary and anti-war themes. His work frequently explored human folly, the absurdity of war, and the search for meaning in a chaotic universe, all delivered with a distinctive blend of irony and compassion. A survivor of the Dresden bombing during World War II, this harrowing experience profoundly influenced his writing, most notably his seminal novel, "Slaughterhouse-Five."
