Karin Boye (1900–1941)
Karin Boye was a Swedish poet and novelist, best known in the science fiction genre for her dystopian novel *Kallocain*. A prominent figure in Swedish modernism, her work often explored themes of identity, integrity, and the conflict between individual freedom and societal control. Boye was also a translator and a committed socialist, whose personal struggles with depression and her bisexuality influenced her writing and public persona.
